Blast Bouncy Castle Hire Newsletter May 2013
Welcome Note - The weather has taken a slight turn to the chillier side over the past weeks and we are gearing up for the winter season. The Blast Entertainment crew are grateful for such a fantastic summer we have been lucky enough to enjoy over the past months and we are still looking forward to being at all the winter parties, celebrations and events. We think bouncing up and down on a castle is a fantastic way to keep warm, stay active and still enjoy the crisp Auckland air!
We are excited to have bookings coming in from previous customers and it means a lot to the staff at Blast Entertainment to know we provide a great service and awesome products, which encourage people to use us again for their special days.
If being outside isn’t an option for your event, consider renting one of our consumable machines, some chairs and tables, either for adults or for the children.
We will continue to strive to ensure that our services meet your expectations and your events are the success you have dreamt of. Again, thank you for using Blast Entertainment Hire and we look forward to working with you in the future to create your exciting events.
Recent Blast Activity - Blast is excited to announce that we will be adding to our ever growing bouncy castle range and will be boasting close to 50 bouncy castles to offer our customers. These range in shapes, sizes, themes, colours, obstacles and glamour. This will allow us to help more people enjoy their day, which is very important to Blast Entertainment.
We would also like to take this opportunity to welcome our newest employee ‘Mel Nei’ to the crew. Mel will be out on the road delivering castles, picking them up and working with our customer to ensure their events go as planned. We are happy to have Mel as part of the team.
Finally, please, please, please book in advance – and REMEMBER we have a bad weather cancellation policy. So, we will not charge you for your booked castle, if the weather is unsafe for bouncing.
Fact for you - Did you know that records have been set on Bouncy Castles?
On the 27th July, 2102 the new record for the longest marathon on a bouncy castle was achieved by a team. This record stands at 27hours and was achieved in Lowa, USA by the Louisana Development Group. The eight young individuals raised money for their community and did not stop bouncing for the entire 27hour period – WOW!

Fact For You - What are these ‘inflatable structure’ ACTUALLY called?
Many people have different terms for our colourful inflatable structures. The name given to such structure varies around the world, they have been and are continued to be marketed as ‘Moon Bounce’, ‘Bounce House’, ‘Bouncy Castles’, ‘Jumping Castles’ or even ‘Jolly Jumpers’. However historically the term ‘Bounce House’ stems from New England, where the hipster culture made this name very popular, the Latinos commonly use the work ‘Brinca brinca’, which literally means ‘Jump, jump’. Interestingly, the terms most commonly used in Ireland, the UK, Australia and of course New Zealand are “Bouncy Castle” or “Inflatable Castle”.
Next time you want to know what to call these inflatable structures, we suggest you don’t worry and call them what you feel is appropriate. Personally, Blast Entertainment likes to call them “Blast Bouncy Castles”:
Castle Of The Month -

A dragon’s den to bounce on and in! This is exciting…..This bouncy castle has a bouncy room; it has obstacles to go over, to get down low below and to go through. And to make it more exciting there is a slide to escape on, but first the keen dragon den explorer must climb the dragon’s ladder. This castle is suitable in the rain, as it is fully covered. It covers a ground area of 30m2 and certainly will capture the attention of the particular audience who has been treated.
